Graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1989, Sani Crljen chose employment in the sales profession. His first sales experience was in the world of office equipment and supplies. This grew to include all aspects of running a small business as the owners added more and more responsibilities. Sani was recruited by Huntly Christie in the summer of 1993. The company was a lot smaller then and like many employees Sani had multiple duties. Officially, his responsibilities included sales and marketing. Sani had to follow up Huntly’s ‘Get Into Bed with Christie Lites Sales’ campaign, with the company’s 1st newsletter. Sani went on to produce four newsletters and numerous flyers before his sales grew to the point where he couldn’t do both. Another need that arose at Christie Lites Sales was someone to manage cable building and fixture plugging. Sani took on this roll, which grew from one full time and many part-time employees to a full-fledged cable-building department. The rental department eventually took this over, allowing Sani to focus on sales. Over the years Sani has developed a strong relationship with many of his customers. He continues to build on these, yet remains open to new ones. Sani did not have any industry experience when he started, but now as the senior salesperson on staff, is often called upon to share his knowledge. Sani’s other focus is his family. He’s the proud father of two boys that always keep him young at heart..
